Peacocks, Portals & the Power of Release: A 7/7/7 Reflection

Peacocks, Portals & the Power of Release: A 7/7/7 Reflection

              “I’m too full of resentment…”

— Beyoncé, channeled loud and clear under the 7/7/7 sky

We Started with Fire: Burning Coffee Grounds for Manifestation

Before we pulled a single card or cracked open a journal, we lit something powerful:

Burned coffee grounds.

It wasn’t just a vibe—it was a manifestation ritual.

Coffee is more than a morning pick-me-up. In spiritual practice, burning coffee grounds can:

  • Cleanse stagnant energy from your space and aura

  • Ground your spirit to the Earth

  • Accelerate manifestation, especially in moments of clarity or full moons

  • Protect you from envy, spiritual clutter, and emotional fog

  • Call in Spirit, especially ancestors who loved their cup

When we lit it that night, we weren’t just setting the mood—we were activating the portal.

We asked:

“What am I calling in?”
“What must I release to receive it?”

The Energy of the Portal

July 7th, 2025. The 7th day, 7th month, 7th universal year.

The numbers aligned, and so did we. What unfolded during book club wasn’t just deep—it was divinely orchestrated.

We pulled 7 cards from 3 different decks:

  • Ascended Masters

  • Faces of Oshun

  • African Goddess Rising

The portal opened—and so did we.

The 7/7/7 Card Pull & What Spirit Showed Us

1. Oshun – Drink More Water

(Ascended Masters)

The first card of the night—and a rare pull from this deck.

She wasn’t just telling us to hydrate.

She was saying:

“You’ve outgrown this deck. Let me take you deeper.”

That card was her blessing and goodbye. She led us directly into the Faces of Oshun and African Goddess decks. Oshun opened the portal herself.

2. El Morya – Clear & Shield Your Energy

(Ascended Masters)

Protect your peace. Every version of you doesn’t need to be accessible.

Your energy is a gift—not a guarantee.

💭 “Where are we being asked to surrender control and let the divine lead?”

3. Buddha – Meditate

(Ascended Masters)

Stillness isn’t silence—it’s sovereignty.

The breath is where the real answers live.

💭 “What habits or energies need to be left behind to walk fully in alignment?”

4. Oshun of Secrets – Mystery, Hidden Knowledge, Wisdom

(Faces of Oshun)

Everything doesn’t need to be explained. The divine feminine whispers before she speaks.

There is power in not knowing.

💭 “Where is our inner child calling out for healing or play?”

5. Oshun of Divine Wrath – Anger, Resentment, Vengeance

(Faces of Oshun)

The moment this card came out, Beyoncé’s “Resentment” came to mind.

I knew it was confirmation.

“You’ve been holding pain in your throat for too long,” Oshun said.
This was sacred rage rising.

💭 “What is being illuminated by the full moon that we can no longer ignore?”

6. Oshun of Shame & Regret – Guilt, Remorse, Self-Loathing

(Faces of Oshun)

It hit hard. The shame we inherited. The stories we never said out loud.

Oshun showed up again to remind us:

“You are not your guilt. You are not what happened to you.”

💭 “How can we use our voice, our truth, and our power more intentionally this season?”

7. Sawtche – Grounding

(African Goddess Rising)

And then… grounding.

The final card wrapped us up in soft soil and deep breath.

Come back to your body. Touch the Earth. Eat. Breathe. Rest.

💭 “What goddess energy is ready to rise within us as we move through this portal?”

The Twins Were Speaking

Before the pull, we read about Nana, the grandmother goddess who birthed the first twins.

Then it clicked:

My cousin—the one I’ve been spiritually nudged to call—is a twin. Her brother passed.

And then I remembered:

My great-grandmother was called “Nana.”
She’s the one we honored at the altar.

But it was my grandmother who came to me in a dream.

Watching from the window. Still holding space.

Not ready to leave. Still present.

This wasn’t just symbolic—it was ancestral confirmation.

The Peacocks Knew Too

Peacocks—the sacred messengers of Oshun—hovered in spirit.

Their feathers carry eyes. Their energy says: “I see you.”

“You are guided. You are protected. Even when you don’t feel it.”

And Then Came the Bog…

The next day, I saw a TikTok about the Great Dismal Swamp—a sacred refuge where enslaved people hid, healed, and survived.

And I thought: we’ve been calling our Garden Chat space “the bog” this whole time.

We’ve joked about Shrek and his swamp.

But now it hits different.

  • The Great Dismal Swamp was resistance and refuge.

  • Shrek’s swamp was sovereignty and solitude.

  • Our bog is rebirth, reclamation, and ritual.

This space isn’t just playful—it’s powerful.

Swamps are sacred.
Bogs are ancient.
And we are the ones tending the soil.

Collective Reflection Questions

  • What spiritual lesson have I mastered during this retrograde?

  • Where am I being asked to surrender and let the divine lead?

  • What habits, stories, or people am I ready to release?

  • What is my inner child trying to tell me?

  • What is the full moon showing me that I can’t unsee?

  • How can I use my truth more boldly this season?

  • What goddess energy is rising up within me now?

✍🏾 Shadow Work Journal Prompt – Activity 1

“What are you still holding that was never yours to carry?”

Write it. Speak it. Cry it out.

Then pour water over it and give it to the bog.

Let the swamp spirit take it back.

 Final Thoughts...

“The 7/7/7 portal wasn’t about manifesting fast cars and cash.
It was about truth.
About rage.
About ancestral grief.
About unspoken shame.
Oshun didn’t come to play pretty—she came to cleanse.”

The coffee burned.
The cards revealed.
The ancestors arrived.
The bog listened.

You are the ritual.
You are the altar.
You are the water.
And the bog… is alive.
